You can board Number 1 or Number 2 town bus (labelled as Katpadi-Bagayam) from bus stop near CMC main gate and reach Bagayam. Towards the right side of the bus stop (150 metres) is the Mental Health Centre. The Number 2 town bus passes via Schell Eye hospital also. You can hire a taxi or auto and ask the driver to drive you to Mental Health Centre (MHC) gate. An auto will charge you INR 40 and taxi charges will come to around INR 200.
Nambikkai Nilayam is for treating children with special needs or disabled children who are diagnosed with mental retardation or any other learning disability, either from the time they were born or due to an accident or illness. These children may be slow learners, have behavioural problems, learning disabilities, speech problems, slurring of words, difficulty in using their hands or slow while sitting, have problems relating to their own family and find it difficult to make friends.
Nambikkai Nilayam is situated in the Mental Health Centre premises, just next to CHAD. It is located opposite to the Rehabilitation Institute in this Bagayam campus.At least one parent should be present with the child at the time of first consultation with the doctor.
