These cylinders are safe for cooking purposes, if used with precaution.These cylinders are available in 5 Kg capacity cylinders in some cities in hilly or rural areas in India.
The gas distributor issues a Domestic Gas Consumer Card (DGCC) containing particulars of your LPG connection. The delivery man enters details of gas supply and servicing done from time to time.
Precautions while Using Domestic LPG Gas Cylinder
- Before igniting the gas, make sure that there is no foul smell of leaking gas.
- Never use kerosene stove or electric heater near the gas cylinder.
- The rubber pipe connecting the gas cylinder and gas table must be checked regularly to rule out any wear and tear.
- Handle the gas cylinder with care to avoid damage to cylinder valve.
- Close cylinder valve when you are not cooking on the gas table.
- To light the gas stove, open the regulator valve first and then turn the knob of the gas table/stove.
